REFRIGERATION DRYERS WITH LOW GWP R513A REFRIGERANT

The new FMD series of refrigeration dryers replaces the “Original” AMD and has been redesigned considering:

  The use of R513A refrigerant gas with very low environmental impact (GWP = 631CO2 ton/eq);
  An improved dew point at 3°C;
  New compactness ALU-DRY heat exchangers;

  New component layout;

  A new frame design for greater strength.

Symbolised by a four-leaf clover, FMDs have four indispensable features for compressed air treatment.

  Consistent and guaranteed performance over a wide range of temperature use.

  Cost-effectiveness due to their compatibility with the compressor sizes on the market.

  Functionality with user-friendly electronic controllers (INDUSTRY 4.0 ready) for managing condensate drainage and condensation, stainless steel hot gas by-pass valve and ALU-DRY heat exchanger on the entire range.

  Ecology: the materials used are highly recyclable and R513A refrigerant gas comply with current regulations.

PREMIUM REFRIGERATION DRYERS

Flow rate: 21 ÷ 18 000 m3/h

 The ACT PREMIUM range of refrigeration dryers provides high performance and operational continuity even under extreme conditions.

 The ACT range has low pressure drops due to the ALU-DRY exchanger and is efficient due to the latest generation of compressors.

 It has a +3°C dew point, which is maintained even when operating conditions change using the three-way stainless steel hot gas by-pass valve.

 The range is designed to meet the most demanding applications up to a 300 m3/min. flow rate. The range standard electronic controllers are equipped with an RS485 port for connectivity to the company’s management system (INDUSTRY 4.0 ready).

 Water-cooled version on demand from ACT55. Non-wasteful capacitive drains are standard from ACT180 and optional for lower models.

ACT ES

Energy saving

REFRIGERATION DRYERS WITH DIRECT THERMAL MASS

Flow rate: 21 ÷ 960 m3/h

 The ACT ES ENERGY SAVING range of dryers was designed to reduce energy consumption. It originates from the ACT range and shares the same construction philosophy and main features.

 The ACT ES range uses the principle of direct expansion applied to the ALU-DRY exchanger thermal mass. This allows the compressor to switch off when the dryer’s thermal demand is met by the cold mass of the aluminium module and the refrigerant evaporation accumulated in the evaporator.

 With the machine’s sensors, the electronic controller can manage the compressor and fan on/off cycles, optimising performance and limiting energy consumption, depending on the dryer’s working conditions. To achieve energy savings, the range is equipped with a standard capacitive condensate drain which prevents the expulsion of compressed air together with condensed water.

 Dedicated selection software calculates energy savings compared to the standard version.

VARIABLE SPEED REFRIGERATION DRYERS

Flow rate: 1 260 ÷ 17 664 m3/h

 ACT VS ENERGY SAVING is the most advanced Friulair’s refrigeration dryer range. The ACT VS range is equipped with the latest functions and energy saving technology, including a touch screen electronic controller which manages the machine’s operating parameters, controls the refrigerant’s compression and condensation speed using dedicated inverters.

 This allows the dryer to adapt its operation, and related consumption, to the energy demand to maintain a +3°C dew point. To achieve energy savings, the range is equipped with a standard capacitive condensate drain which prevents the expulsion of compressed air together with condensed water.

 ACT VS has the advantages of the ACT PREMIUM range, and it lowers running costs compared to the standard version, which can be easily calculated by using the selection software developed for the energy-saving range.

REFRIGERATION DRYERS WITH LOW GWP R513A REFRIGERANT

Flow rate: 21 ÷ 8 830 m3/h

The FCT ECO-FRIENDLY range of refrigerant cycle dryers has been developed recently to replace traditional refrigerants with the latest generation.

 The R513a refrigerant gas has a low environmental impact (GWP = 613 CO2 ton/eq), under applicable European and international regulations.

Based on the tried and tested ACT range, it has a low energy consumption, even under extreme load conditions. This is due to the ALU-DRY exchanger reduced pressure drop, latest generation compressors, control valve, hot gas by-pass and capacitive drains (standard from FCT180 and optional for lower sizes). The +3°C dew point is maintained even when operating conditions change.

 The range standard electronic controllers are equipped with an RS485 port for connectivity to the company’s management system (INDUSTRY 4.0 ready). Water-cooled version on demand from FCT55.

LOW OUTLET TEMPERATURE REFRIGERATION DRYERS

Flow rate: 12 ÷ 720 m3/h

 The AMH range of refrigerant cycle dryers is used in situations with high temperature inlet compressed air produced by piston compressors. I

t is an evolution of the AMD range and synonymous with quality and performance. It incorporates the pre-cooler (air-to-air exchanger with copper pipes and aluminium cooling fins) in a single unit.

 This lowers the incoming air temperature using ambient air. Subsequently, the cooled compressed air enters the refrigerant cycle dryer and then the ALU-DRY drying module.

The functions are managed by the electronic controller (INDUSTRY 4.0 ready). The AMH range advantage is that it encapsulates the latest technologies in a compact and cost-effective design. It guarantees optimum compressed air treatment performance.

AHT

PREMIUM REFRIGERATION DRYERS FOR HIGH INLET AIR TEMPERATURE

Flow rate: 33 ÷ 630 m3/h

 The AHT range incorporates the pre-cooler, three-micron separator filter and refrigeration dryer designed based on the ACT range technology in a single unit.

This dryer combines a heat exchange coil with copper pipes and aluminium cooling fins, a pre-filter from Friulair’s FT range, equipped with automatic condensate drain, and the aluminium ALU-DRY drying module.

 The product offers many advantages, which include a layout with vertical development that limits the footprint, high operating limits, machine management electronic controller (Industry 4.0 ready) condensate drainage management through two separate drainage devices managed directly by the control tool.

HIGH PRESSURE REFRIGERATION DRYERS 45/50 BARG

Flow rate: 25 ÷ 6060 m3/h

 PLH is the range of refrigeration dryers for medium pressure compressed air applications (e.g., PET bottle production) and is highly robust and efficient.

 The layout is simple and ergonomic, the components guarantee functionality and efficiency, and an excellent performance due to the dew point stability and limited pressure drop.  The units are equipped with a machine management electronic controller (Industry 4.0 ready). Starting from the PLH15 model, the module is a brazed stainless-steel plate with copper alloy that incorporates the air-to-air exchanger and the highly efficient air-coolant exchanger in a single unit.

 The air connection pipes and condensate separator vessel are made of stainless steel. Starting from the PLH 210 model, the heat exchanger unit boasts the innovative independent module configuration.

 The air-to-air and air-coolant exchangers consist of two separate stainless-steel plates which, combined with the air piping and external demister condensate separator, form an innovative “exchanger” assembly that offers greater pulsation resistance and a single air circuit path. A stainless-steel demister condensate separator is used for all versions. Water-cooled versions are available on demand.

LOW OUTLET TEMPERATURE REFRIGERATION DRYERS

Flow rate: 12 ÷ 720 m3/h

 PCD refrigeration dryers (Process Chiller-Dryer), called “Point of UseDryerare used in situations where a compressed air temperature equal to the Dew-Point value is required (Dew -Pointsuch as the moulding sector of plastics and foodstuffs, and sectors where it is not possible to use water for cooling.

 In addition to the electronic controller (Industry 4.0 ready), the range features a single air-to-cooler (or evaporator) heat exchange circuit.

 The incoming warm and humid air exchanges heat with the refrigerant fluid counter-current flow, undergoing an abrupt temperature drop. Before leaving the dryer, the cold air is conveyed into the stainless-steel demister separator where the condensate is collected and discharged from the system. The treated air exits at a temperature close to thedew point.

   Inlet air temperature: + 55°C
